I love civil liberties! I have been here 3 times, to see consistency. I love the idea of having no menu, but you really need to know what you like a be able to communicate that to the bartender. The bartender definitely try to ask questions to try to get on the same page as you. But it's easy to get into a genie wish situation where what is unsaid can bite you in the butt. The drinks are superb, when I went last we got spiked eggnog inspired drink(delicious), fruity sweet cocktail, light citrus cocktail with egg whites and cucumber water with gin cocktail. All were excellent and unique in their own way and so far everyone I bring lives this place. Because their is no menu that also means you don't really know the pricing upfront 15$bar rail-25$ for a custom cocktail.

Came here strictly for the drinks and it's not hard to see why it's ranked as one of the best cocktail bars around! My skepticism based on the idea of having no menu instantly vanished after the first sip of my cocktail. Our mixologist nailed it! Everyone at our table enjoyed what was crafted specifically for them. I only wish I remembered what I asked for so I could order it again! Service is friendly, vibes unpretentious, and drinks are reasonably priced given the quality and level of effort and care. Highly, highly recommend!

Awesome bar. Yaz and Mike were super attentive and made some excellent drink and explained their ingredients perfectly. I would highly recommend to anyone coming to Toronto.

Highly recommend civil liberties. Service and drinks are absolutely top notch. The staff do a great job at taking your interests and creating something fantastic. My go to place for cocktails in the city. If you’re sensitive to noise levels, bring a pair of loops, but not any worse than any other popular lounge or bar.

Coming back to this place after quite a long time! And I remembered how good it was! They served us drinks based on our descriptions and things we like to taste in our drinks such as herbal/ floral hints ! The vibes is great and staff are nice and friendly 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Thank you team civil Liberties bar 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

This is a fantastic spot for a pre or post dinner drink. There's no menu and you tell the waiter about your likes and they make something just for you. It's a fun twist on exploring cocktails and they have always hit the mark with what they've made for me. I wouldn't go here is you just want something standard, but if you're looking for an adventure this is the place.

Great experience here! I asked for an espresso martini with a chocolate orange-like taste because I had that at another bar and really liked it. It was so much better here. I didn't know what to expect but I was very pleasantly surprised. The servers were also very attentive and the prices pretty standard for Toronto. Not too loud for conversation either.

Amazing spot. Highly reccomend!! Very dark and intimate vibe. I would reccomend coming early and get a spot at the bar. It got busy quick. We arrived around 6:30 and shortly after it was full and there was a lineup out the door. All the bartenders seemed wonderful. We had Dylan and he was great, took our ideas and tuned them into delicious cocktails and mocktails. Can't wait to come back!! My wife and I had 2 custom drinks each and out bill was around $100. So pricier spot, but vibe and drinks are worth it!! 👌 I wish I got better pictures I just snapped quick and wanted to drink, but they are so dark! I dont know if they serve food we had juat eaten.

Lovely drinks - definitely on the expensive side but well worth it for the taste, ambience, service. Came here to celebrate a special occasion before dinner reservations and had 3 drinks. The bartender nailed our preferences and each drink got better after the other. Definitely unique bar worth checking out! It does get busy so come a bit early or expect to wait on weekend nights.
